Given the complexity of modem electrical power systems and the significant challenges they pose to owners, operators and managers of critical (regional, national and international) electrical networks; there is a need for automated software tools that can allow the rapid deployment of schematic based user interfaces to provide precise and well understood perspective of the overall health and performance of the various components that comprise an electrical power system. Ideally, the tools can be configured to automatically read electrical system configuration data from a database containing a virtual system representation (i.e., virtual system model) of the electrical system, generate a schematic user interface view of the electrical system, and intelligently link the various components included in the user interface to the predicted, monitored and/or derived output/values of those various components.
