Again with reference to FIG. 38, in block 3830, analytical data is generated by performing power analytics using the virtual system model of the microgrid and, in an embodiment, the real-time data acquired in block 3820. As discussed above, the power analytics used to generate the analytical data may be supplied by open-source software systems, as well as proprietary software systems via the microgrid portal. In block 3840, the analytical data is then presented through the microgrid portal. The analytical data may include predictions and pattern recognition. Thus, the microgrid portal provides the opportunity for the global management of distributed energy in microgrids. By enabling multiple sources of data and multiple types of data acquisition systems with differing capabilities to access the virtual microgrid model through the microgrid portal, the disclosed systems and methods facilitate broad and rapid deployment of distributed energy systems in mature and developing markets, economies, and geographies. In one embodiment, the microgrid portal is operable to connect at least one data source via at least one data acquisition system and to communicate real-time data from the at least one data source via the at least one data acquisition system to the virtual system model. In another embodiment, the microgrid portal is operable to connect two or more data sources via two or more data acquisition systems and to communicate real-time data from the two or more data sources via the two or more data acquisition systems to the virtual system model.
