FIG. 6 shows an exemplary mesh network application in accordance with one or more embodiments with a combination of personal and Wireless Wide Area Network modules and chipsets. In one or more embodiments, a mesh network between the devices 602, 604, 606, 608, 610, and 612 is created using either USB connection or Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) connectivity such as Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth Smart, ZigBee, Z-Wave, or other low power wireless communication protocols. In this scenario, even though all of the devices (two or more) have WWAN 614 connectivity such as cellular, LoRa, Sigfox, or others, one of the devices is assigned to be the master (or designated device) to connect through WWAN 614 such as shown in FIG. 6 where only device 612 is connected to the WWAN.
