For example, a microphone 231 receives a voice uttered by the user. The microphone 231 may convert the received voice into an electrical signal and output the converted electrical signal to the controller 210. The user's voice may include, for example, a voice corresponding to a menu or function of the image display apparatus. The microphone 231 may be implemented by being integrated with or separated from the image display apparatus. The separated microphone 231 may be electrically connected to the image display apparatus through the communicator 250 or the I/O interface 270.
A camera 232 may receive an image (e.g., continuous frames) corresponding to a motion of the user, including a gesture, within a camera recognition range. The motion of the user may include, for example, a motion of a partial body part of the user, such as the face, expression, a hand, a fist, or a finger of the user, or a motion of a part of the user. The camera 232 may convert a received image into an electrical signal and output the electrical signal to the controller 210, under control of the controller 210.
The controller 210 may select a menu to be displayed on the image display apparatus or perform a control corresponding to a motion recognition result, by using a recognition result of a received motion. For example, the control may include channel tuning, volume adjustment, an indicator movement, or a cursor movement.
