The GPU 320 may map the planar-format 360° image 410 to a sphere to generate a sphere-format 360° image 420, as shown in the middle portion of FIG. 5. According to an exemplary embodiment, the sphere-format 360° image 420 may be represented by an RGB color space. In addition, the GPU 320 may extract a partial region 425 of the sphere-format 360° image 420, correct distortion of the partial region 425, and convert the distortion-corrected image into an image 430 having a rectangular view, as shown in the lower portion of FIG. 5. According to an exemplary embodiment, the partial region 425 may be selected based on an operating input (e.g., angle movement or zoom input) on the sphere-format 360° image 420.

According to an exemplary embodiment, the image display apparatus 300 may convert the color space of the image 430 of the partial region 425, which is output from the GPU 320, from the RGB color space into a YUV color space. For example, the color space of the image 430 of the partial region 425 may be converted from the RGB color space into the YUV color space by using the CSC 330. However, exemplary embodiments are not limited thereto.

The image display apparatus 300 may store the color-space-converted 360° image in the video buffer 340. The 360° image stored in the video buffer 340 may be represented by the YUV color space.
