When image quality processing is performed on an image obtained by synthesizing the 360° image and the OSD image, a breaking phenomenon may occur in a boundary between the 360° image and the OSD image, or an original color of the OSD image may be damaged. Accordingly, in an exemplary embodiment, the image display apparatus 300 may store the 360° image and the OSD image processed by the GPU 320 in separate buffers and perform image quality processing only on the 360° image.

For example, the first image may be an 360° image and the image display apparatus 100 may map a decoded planar-format 360° image to a sphere to generate a sphere-format 360° image. According to an exemplary embodiment, the generated sphere-format 360° image may be represented by an RGB color space. In addition, the image display apparatus 100 may extract a partial region of the sphere-format 360° image, correct distortion of the partial region, and convert the distortion-corrected image into an image having a rectangular view.
The image display apparatus 100 may convert an attribute of the graphics-processed first image, in operation S520. For example, the image display apparatus 100 may convert a color space of the graphics-processed 360° image from the RGB color space to a YUV color space and store the 360° image of the YUV color space in the first buffer. According to an exemplary embodiment, the first buffer may be a video buffer.
