The existing computer prescription drug transaction systems do not adequately provide the necessary and appropriate prescription drug transaction information across different pharmacy computer system platforms. Disparate and disassociated pharmacy retailers do not share prescription drug transaction data about prescription drug requests in a real-time and useful manner.
The following proposed computer systems and computerized methods have failed to provide adequate technical solutions.
U.S. Pat. Publ. No. 2016/0055315, to Abbott, discloses an inappropriate prescription, prescriber or prescribing location identification system and method. The Abbott system and method do not provide prescription drug transaction data in a usable format for a pharmacist to decide whether or not to fulfill a prescription drug request.
The I-STOP/PMP—Internet System Tracking Over-Prescribing-Prescription Monitoring Program Article discloses a Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) Registry. The PMP Registry provides practitioners with direct, secure access to view dispensed controlled substance prescription histories for their patients. This registry is a specific service for doctors and other health practitioners with authorization to issue prescription and controlled prescription drugs. The registry does not provide a system in which prescription drug transaction information may be accessed and monitored across several different disparate and disassociated pharmacy prescription drug transaction systems.
