The drain and source terminals of Q6 (e.g., in FIG. 29 or FIG. 28), a field effect transistor provides a voltage controlled resistance via control voltage V6.
FIG. 29 includes an embodiment for an output stage to control the quiescent current of output devices Q2 and Q4, which are shown to be bipolar transistors. Alternatively, Q2 and Q4 may include field effect transistors. The Vbe multiplier circuit including Q3 and Q6 provides a biasing voltage via the collector voltage of Q3 and the emitter voltage of Q3 to the base of Q2 and base of Q4 (e.g., respectively). Q2 and Q4 form a push pull emitter follower output stage in this example.
