Provided herein is a system and method for directing an airflow into an enclosure of a vehicle. The system comprises an enclosure comprising a vent at a base of the enclosure. The enclosure houses one or more sensors. The system comprises a deflector connected to the enclosure and configured to channel an airflow and direct the channeled airflow into the vent of the enclosure.

FIG. 1L illustrates an example vehicle (e.g., autonomous vehicle), comprising a cooling system (e.g., including a deflector), in a side view, corresponding to FIG. 1K, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. FIG. 1L illustrates an example of an operation of the deflector(s) 176 as referenced in FIG. 1K, being controlled to move up and down. In FIG. 1L, the deflector(s) 176 may be in an inactive mode. During the inactive mode, the deflector(s) 176 may be fully embedded in the groove(s) 178, and the deflector(s) 176 may not extend vertically, above a plane of the vehicle 170 (e.g., a roof of the vehicle 170). Thus, the deflector(s) 176 may be hidden from view, and not be used. For example, during the inactive mode, the controller may determine that no airflow to the enclosure 172 is needed or desired, because no cooling is needed or desired.
