Based on the techniques described herein, it may be possible to anticipate such a scenario where the DL payload data or arrives after expiry of the ON time and during the OFF time, i.e., at a point in time at which the interface already switched back to the sleep state. Then, according to various examples described herein, it may be possible that the terminal transmits UL control data to the network, the UL control data being indicative of the temporary deviation from the schedule. For example, if the at least one active state is prolonged, a window of opportunity may be open for receiving the expected DL payload data.
