A highly effective method for treating refractile tinnitus by repeatedly subjecting a subject having tinnitus to a specific calculated sound comprising a group of related waveforms.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,579,796, which discloses a method of treatment of tinnitus wherein an acoustic signal to is provided to a subject, wherein said acoustic signal comprises a non-sinusoidal pulsating electric waveform having a pulse repetition rate less than 100 Hz, and wherein said pulsating electric waveform is selected from the group consisting of square waves, triangle waves, and sawtooth waves, said pulsating waveform further comprises a sequence of three of said waves each of a predetermined duration, and said sequence comprises a first square wave, followed by a triangular wave, followed by a second square wave.
