The systems and methods described herein may be used herein to enhance the usability, convenience, and ease of use of the infotainment system by contextually switching or changing the location of different interaction elements on the display system of the vehicle. The techniques described herein facilitate identifying the relative importance of different interactive elements based on the state of the driver, driving context, and historical driver information. Interactive elements that a driver is likely to interact with may be placed on a display according to how the driver is expected to interact with the element. For example, some interactive elements require inputs from a driver and may therefore be placed closer to the driver while other interactive elements provide instructions or navigation and may be placed near the windshield of the vehicle, for example in a display on the top of the dashboard or a head-up display (HUD). Some interactive elements may be positioned at or near the windshield, in a display further away from the driver, for example to provide navigation directions without directing the focus of the driver away from the road.
