In various embodiments, a feature adjustment module 104 may be embodied as a hardware appliance that can be installed or deployed on a hardware server device 108, on a user's device 102 (e.g., a dongle or other peripheral device), or elsewhere on the data network 106. In certain embodiments, a feature adjustment module 104 may comprise a hardware device such as a secure hardware dongle or other hardware appliance device (e.g., a set-top box, a network appliance, or the like) that attaches to another device 102, such as a laptop computer, a server, a tablet computer, a smart phone, or the like, either by a wired connection (e.g., a USB connection) or a wireless connection (e.g., Bluetooth?, Wi-Fi?, near-field communication (NFC), or the like); that attaches to an electronic display device (e.g., a television or monitor using an HDMI port, a DisplayPort port, a Mini DisplayPort port, VGA port, DVI port, or the like). A hardware appliance of a feature adjustment module 104 may comprise a power interface, a wired and/or wireless network interface, a graphical interface that attaches to a display, and/or a semiconductor integrated circuit device as described below, configured to perform the functions described herein with regard to a feature adjustment module 104.
