Further, each of the plurality of object storage nodes 602A-N includes its own daemon 606A-N. In one embodiment, for each of the plurality of object storage nodes 602A-N, the daemon 606A-N located on that node may collect virtualization unit metadata for the virtualization unit 608A-N located on that node. For instance, the daemon 606A may collect virtualization unit metadata for the virtualization unit 608A located on the object storage node 602A, the daemon 606B may collect virtualization unit metadata for the virtualization unit 608B located on the object storage node 602A, etc.
Further still, in one embodiment, the virtualization unit metadata may include licensing types and/or guidelines of applications bundled with each virtualization unit 608A-N. For example, the virtualization unit metadata may include an indication of a software licensing model used by the virtualization unit. Table 1 illustrates exemplary software licensing models that may be included as virtualization unit metadata, in accordance with one embodiment. Of course, it should be noted that the exemplary software licensing models shown in Table 1 is set forth for illustrative purposes only, and thus should not be construed as limiting in any manner.
