摘要

Incidents may be monitored using a camera in response to an activation of a trigger device. Trigger data may be received over a communication network in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle. A camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle may be controlled over the communication network in response to receiving the trigger data, the controlling causing the camera to capture sensor information of a passenger of the vehicle. Passenger information of the passenger of the vehicle may be obtained in response to receiving the trigger data. An alert notification may be generated. The alert notification may comprise at least a portion of the sensor information of the passenger, and the alert notification may be capable of initiating one or more incident actions associated with the passenger.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The disclosure relates generally to monitoring and reporting an incident in a vehicle.

BACKGROUND

Under traditional approaches, ridesharing platforms may be able to connect passengers and drivers on relatively short notice. However, traditional ridesharing platforms suffer from a variety of safety and security risks for both passengers and drivers.

SUMMARY

A claimed solution rooted in computer technology overcomes problems specifically arising in the realm of computer technology. In various implementations, a computing system is configured to receive, over a communication network, trigger data in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle. For example, a panic button may be placed underneath a steering wheel of the vehicle, and a driver may press the panic button which may then cause the trigger data to be provided to the computing system using a hotspot of the driver's mobile device. In response to receiving the trigger data, the computing system may control a camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle to capture sensor information (e.g., video, pictures, audio) of a passenger of the vehicle (e.g., a passenger sitting in a back-seat of the vehicle). The camera may be disposed on a windshield and/or other area of the vehicle such that the camera can capture sensor information of the driver and/or the passenger of the vehicle.

What is claimed is:1. A system comprising:one or more processors; anda memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform:receiving, over a communication network, trigger data in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle, wherein the first area of the vehicle comprises an area that is invisible to a passenger of the vehicle, the first area is under a driver seat or behind a steering wheel of the vehicle;controlling, over the communication network in response to receiving the trigger data, a camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle, wherein the controllingcomprises switching the camera from a powered-off state to a powered-on state, andcauses causing the camera to capture sensor information of the passenger of the vehicle, the sensor information including at least one of: an image, a video recording, and a live stream of image data of the passenger;obtaining, in response to receiving the trigger data, passenger information of the passenger of the vehicle based on user account information of the passenger and a facial recognition analysis of the sensor information;generating an alert notification, the alert notification comprising at least a portion of the sensor information of the passenger, the alert notification being capable of initiating one or more incident actions associated with the passenger.2. The system of claim 1, wherein the controlling the camera comprises causing the camera to live-stream the sensor information of the passenger of the vehicle.3. The system of claim 1, wherein the passenger information comprises a name of the passenger.4. The system of claim 1, wherein the communication network comprises a hotspot of a mobile device of a driver of the vehicle.5. The system of claim 1, wherein the second area of the vehicle comprises an area of the vehicle that is visible the passenger of the vehicle and a driver of the vehicle.6. The system of claim 1, wherein the controlling causes the camera to capture sensor information of a driver of the vehicle.7. The system of claim 6, wherein the instructions further cause the system to verify an identity of the driver based on the captured sensor information of the driver.8. The system of claim 1, wherein the one or more incident actions comprise any of suspending or canceling a user account of the passenger.9. A method, comprising:receiving, over a communication network, trigger data in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle, wherein the first area of the vehicle comprises an area that is invisible to a passenger of the vehicle, the first area is under a driver seat or behind a steering wheel of the vehicle;controlling, over the communication network in response to receiving the trigger data, a camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle, wherein the controllingcomprises switching the camera from a powered-off state to a powered-on state, andcauses causing the camera to capture sensor information of the passenger of the vehicle, the sensor information including at least one of: an image, a video recording, and a live stream of image data of the passenger;obtaining, in response to receiving the trigger data, passenger information of the passenger of the vehicle based on user account information of the passenger and a facial recognition analysis of the sensor information;generating an alert notification, the alert notification comprising at least a portion of the sensor information of the passenger, the alert notification being capable of initiating one or more incident actions associated with the passenger.10. The method of claim 9, wherein the communication network comprises a hotspot of a mobile device of a driver of the vehicle.11. The method of claim 9, wherein the second area of the vehicle comprises an area of the vehicle that is visible the passenger of the vehicle and a driver of the vehicle.12. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium configured with instructions executable by one or more processors to cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:receiving, over a communication network, trigger data in response to activation of a trigger device disposed within a first area of a vehicle, wherein the first area of the vehicle comprises an area that is invisible to a passenger of the vehicle, the first area is under a driver seat or behind a steering wheel of the vehicle;controlling, over the communication network in response to receiving the trigger data, a camera disposed within a second area of the vehicle, wherein the controllingcomprises switching the camera from a powered-off state to a powered-on state, andcauses causing the camera to capture sensor information of the passenger of the vehicle, the sensor information including at least one of: an image, a video recording, and a live stream of image data of the passenger;obtaining, in response to receiving the trigger data, passenger information of the passenger of the vehicle based on user account information of the passenger and a facial recognition analysis of the sensor information;generating an alert notification, the alert notification comprising at least a portion of the sensor information of the passenger, the alert notification being capable of initiating one or more incident actions associated with the passenger.13. The method of claim 9, wherein the one or more incident actions comprise any of suspending or canceling a user account of the passenger.14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the one or more incident actions comprise any of suspending or canceling a user account of the passenger.15. The method of claim 9, wherein the controlling causes the camera to capture sensor information of a driver of the vehicle.16. The method of claim 15, wherein the method further comprises verifying an identity of the driver based on the captured sensor information of the driver.17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the controlling causes the camera to capture sensor information of a driver of the vehicle.18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, wherein the operations further comprise verifying an identity of the driver based on the captured sensor information of the driver.
