Therefore, as discussed above, embodiments of the present invention have at least the goals of: 1) preventing continuous alternating between isolation on and off; and 2) tracking false positives (shorts that are so quick, the controller does not have time to isolate them) and shortening the time to detect, so that they can be isolated.
The terms “short”, “short circuit” and “anomaly” have all been used to represent the same event. “short” and “short circuit” have been used often because the focus of the description has been the detection of short circuits; however use of these terms throughout this specification is not meant in any way to limit events to short circuits, except where the terms “short” and “short circuit” are used in the claims.
“Controller” as used herein may be implemented by, but is not limited to, a microprocessor, microcontroller, analog or digital circuit, an ASIC or fuzzy logic controller.
