Adder 910 may also send reporting details to a reporting data store 916. Reporting details may include, for example, a time of transmission, a destination identifier, and/or an identifier or a data element (and/or data-element data, such as a composite and/or composite value) represented in the transmission. In one instance, a reporting detail sufficiently identifies each data element represented in a transmission so as to enable retrieval of the original data element (e.g., one as included in stream 902a or 902b) from a local or remote data store.
FIG. 10 shows an illustration of a data flow 1000 across processing nodes according to an embodiment of the invention. As depicted, a plurality of data streams 1002 are received at a scheduler 1004, which may be a component (e.g., including one or more dedicated servers and/or processors, such as stream processors) of stream processing system 120. Scheduler 1004 can assign each data streams or individual data elements in each data streams to a processing node from amongst a set of processing nodes 1006, which may be a component (e.g., including one or more dedicated servers and/or processors, such as stream processors) of stream processing system 120. In some instances, each processor node in set of processing nodes 1006 includes an independent processor and/or network address relative to other nodes in the set. Some or all of the nodes in the set may be co-located or physically distributed.
