In step 915, the mobile device prompts for capture of one or more images from the mobile device. For instance, to do so, in step 916, the mobile device requests capture of an image using the rear-facing camera of the mobile device. More particularly, the mobile device may instruct the user, through a prompt on the user interface of the mobile device, to capture an image of a specified item in the vehicle, such as a steering wheel. As another example, the mobile device may instruct the user to hold the mobile device in a given orientation or to aim at a particular target. Once in position, the mobile device may drive the camera to automatically capture the image (or frames of images, e.g., as video data). In step 917, the mobile device may also instruct the user, through a prompt on the user interface, to capture an image using the front-facing camera of the mobile device. As another example, the mobile device may instruct the user to hold the mobile device in a given orientation or at a particular target (e.g., such that the front-facing camera is facing the user and an object of the vehicle, such as a passenger seat headrest). Once in position, the mobile device may drive the camera to automatically capture the image (or frames of images). In some cases, the image capture using the rear-facing camera and the front-facing camera may occur substantially simultaneously. For instance, after the mobile device captures the image by the rear-facing camera, the mobile device may immediately capture the image by the front-facing camera. In step 920, the mobile device receives the images captured from both the front-facing camera and the rear-facing camera.
