When the UE is paged so that the UE enters the RRC connected state in anticipation of an impending data transfer, the MCN may provide the UE with an indication of why the UE was paged. For example, the indication may indicate that there is an AS that would like to send data to the UE and that low power modes should be disabled for a period of time. When the UE or STA receives such an indication, a message such as an example message 1104 that is displayed in FIG. 11B may be displayed.
It will be understood that the GUIs 1102 and 1104 in FIGS. 11A and 11B, respectively, are presented by way of example, and the GUIs may be constructed as desired, such that configuration parameters can be viewed and altered as desired. It will be understood that the example user interfaces can be used to monitor and control alternative parameters as desired. It will further be understood that GUIs can provide a user with various information in which the user is interested via a variety of charts or alternative visual depictions.
FIG. 12A is a diagram of an example machine-to-machine (M2M), Internet of Things (IoT), or Web of Things (WoT) communication system 10 in which one or more disclosed embodiments may be implemented. Generally, M2M technologies provide building blocks for the IoT/WoT, and any M2M device, M2M gateway or M2M service platform may be a component of the IoT/WoT as well as an IoT/WoT service layer, etc. Any of the devices, functions, nodes, or networks illustrated in any of FIGS. 8-10 may comprise a node of a communication system such as the one illustrated in FIGS. 12A-B.
