As used herein, “top,” “above,” “over,” “covers,” and similar expressions refers to a direction or position that is up in the FIG. 1 and relatively nearer to the top side 16, which may be exposed or visible when the lighting assembly 2 is applied to the surface 4; while “bottom,” “below,” “under,” “is covered by,” and similar expressions is an opposite direction or position that is down in FIG. 1 and relatively nearer to a bottom side 20 of the lighting assembly 2, which is facing the surface 4 to which the lighting assembly 2 is affixed.
The lighting assembly 2 can be included in a variety of shapes, sizes, configurations, and at a plurality of locations on the vehicle 6, and is shown in FIGS. 2-3 to be in the shape of a star. The lighting assembly 2 is not limited to this shape, and can have other shapes. Because the lighting assembly 2 is flexible, it can conform to the contours and shape of the surface 4 to which it is adhered, which may include complex curves.
As shown in FIG. 2, the lighting assembly 2A can be applied to an exterior surface 4A of the vehicle 6 to provide illumination at the exterior of the vehicle 6. As shown in FIG. 3, the lighting assembly 2B can be applied to an interior surface 4B of the vehicle 6 to provide illumination at the interior of the vehicle 6.
