The blocked date 462 indicates the date that the blocked flag 460 was set to the first value. The blocking software 410 uses the blocked date 462 to determine when to unblock the telephone number 452, if at all. If the sender does not successfully respond to challenges for a predetermined number of failures (e.g., 5) since the telephone number 452 was unblocked, then the blocking software 410 blocks the telephone number 452 for a blocking period (e.g., 30 days). If the number of unsuccessful responses reaches a maximum number of failures (e.g., 10 or 15), then the blocking software 410 does not unblock the telephone number 452. That is, the telephone number 452 can be considered to be permanently blocked.
The global white list 418 includes contact lists from one or more users of the software platform 402. In an example, a user of the software platform 402 may be specifically a user of (e.g., is enabled or authorized to use) at least one of the telephony software 406 or the messaging software 408. As such, users can be potential or intended recipients of communications. As users of the software platform 402 may be recipients of communications, the users are referred to as potential recipients.
