In an example, the trust level determination tool 502 may obtain the trust level from the intended recipient. In an example, the trust level may be obtained from the intended recipient only if the telephone number of the communication is verified. That a telephone number is verified can include that the attestation included in the communication is one of the full attestation level or the partial attestation level. To obtain the trust level from the intended recipient, the trust level determination tool 502 may transmit a text communication descriptive of the communication to the intended recipient.
The text communication descriptive of the communication can include one or more of the telephone number of the communication, the attestation level, or the contents of the communications. To illustrate, the text communication descriptive of the communication may be “XXX-XXX-XXXX wants to send you the message <message content>. The caller ID shows as John Hancock. However, this is not a verified caller ID. Respond with 1 to receive the message, 2 to challenge the sender once, 3 to challenge the sender more than once, or 3 to ignore the message.” In this case, receiving a response of 1, 2, or 3, causes the trust level determination tool 502 to associate, respectively, the high trust level, the medium trust level, or the low trust level with the telephone number of the communication.
